Soil & Water Testing Lab

The Soil & Water Testing Laboratory is established in 1998 with Macro & Micro soil nutrient analysis facilities. The minimum charges is Rs. 10/- per sample for soil & water testing and charging of Rs. 25/- per sample for Micro Nutrient Analysis. The complete testing report is being provided with advice for recommendation of fertilizer doses for next crops.

 

Fruit & Vegetable Preservation Lab

 

Fruit & Vegetable Preservation Lab established in 2010 for providing practical training to beneficiaries on various fruit & vegetable products like Aonla Murabba, Aonla Candy, Jam, Jelly, Squashes, Chatnis, Sharbats etc. with packaging and value addition.

 

Information Center

 

There is an Information Center cum Conference Hall 150 seating capacity with collection of charts, models, pictures, display boxes related to various activities of agriculture & allied subject for the benefit of visiting farmers. To providing useful training to the farmers, the Audio-Visual Aids are suing like LCD, Overhead Projector, Television, Slide Projector etc.

 

Computer Lab with Internet Facility

 

The Computer Lab is established in 2009 by ICAR with Internet facilities for on-line reporting & upgradation of staff for gathering & transferring latest technical know-how to farming community viz; market price, technical information by sending messages to their mobiles. Also with the help of this center, latest information on agriculture received by KVK scientists is also transferred amongst the farming community.

 

Kisan Mobile Advisory Services

 

KVK provides advisory services to the farming community through sending technical information by SMS to their mobiles with the help of internet.

 

Library

 

KVK has a good collection of books in its library on all disciplines like Soil Science, Agronomy, Horticulture, Plant Protection, Home Science, Animal Husbandry, Agriculture Engineering, Organic Farming and Agriculture Extension for upgradation of staff by monthly, fortnightly and quarterly magazines subscribed for benefit of farming community & trainees.

 

Farmers’ Hostel & Mess

 

There is a well furnished farmers’ hostel and mess with the facilities of lodging & boarding of 50 trainees.

 

Instructional Farm

 

KVK has 18 ha. of land, out of which 14 ha. land is being used under various activities like Seed Production of Cereals, Vegetables, Spices & Orchard of Aonla, Lasoda, Karonda etc. for useful demonstration units for benefit of visiting farmers.

 

Seed Processing Unit

 

A seed processing unit with Seed Cleaning cum Grading & Packaging facilities is established. The quality seed production & distribution is being done by KVK since last 15 years to the farming community of the district as well as adjoining districts.

 

Farm Machinery Unit

 

A well established Farm Machinery Unit of improved agricultural implements comprising of Multicrop thresher, Rotovator, Seed cum Fertilizer Drill, Disc Harrow, Disc Plough, Leveler, Bund Maker etc. for the benefit of visiting farmers.

 

Artificial Insemination Unit

 

KVK established an A. I. Unit in the year 1998 under Cattle Breed Improvement Programme and useful for practical training to Paravet. The A. I. Services is providing to the Dairy Farmers with quality semen.

 

Drip Irrigation System

 

KVK has established a Drip Irrigation System on Onion Seed Production which is useful for a Demonstration-cum- Training Unit for the visiting farmers for adoption of their field.

 

Agro Shed Net House for Fruits

 

In order to provide the seedlings of improved varieties of fruit plants before season to the farming community, an Agro shed net house has been established and plants of Aonla, Beal, Guava, Papaya etc. in fruit plants, while rose in floriculture are being raised and will be provided to the farmers.

 

Agro Shed Net House for Vegetables

 

KVK has also established a Agroshed Net House under National Horticulture Mission Programme of State Government , in which seedlings of Tomato, Onion, Chilli, Brinjal etc. bave been prepared and distributed to the farmers at reasonable rates and this is also used for Capsicum/Cherry Tomato Production.

 

Onion Storage Structure

 

KVK has also established a Onion Storage Structure which is useful for a Demonstration-cum- Training Unit for the visiting farmers for adoption of their field. This structure is 15 feet in length, 4 feet width and 5 feet height and having storage.

capacity of 50 Tonne onion.

Vermi Composting Unit

To promote sustainable and organic farming, KVK established the vermi compost unit useful demonstration during the skill training farmers for adoption.
